First new CFD ambulance arrives
Hey everyone,
I just came across some exciting news about the Chicago Fire Department's latest additions. Drew Gresik shared this with me, and it looks like they’ve got a brand-new batch of ambulances rolling out. The first one in this series is shop number C154, and it seems to be a 2013-14 Ford E-450 equipped with a Wheeled Coach module. This particular rig is destined for Ambulance 13, which operates out of one of their busiest stations.
Drew mentioned that these photos were originally posted on Fire Service Inc.'s Facebook page, so big thanks to them for sharing! The images really give you a good look at how sleek and modern these vehicles are. From what I can tell, they’ve definitely been upgraded compared to older models.
I’ve included a few snapshots below—there’s a shot of the driver’s side, a rear view, and an overall look at the front. Each photo gives a different angle and highlights the attention to detail that went into designing these ambulances. It’s clear they’re aiming for both functionality and durability, which is exactly what you’d expect from the Chicago FD.

Also, a quick shoutout to Dennis for helping spread the word about these updates. It’s always interesting to see how departments evolve their fleets over time, especially when it comes to emergency response vehicles. These new rigs will undoubtedly make a difference in keeping the community safe.
