Magnetic drive pump precautions
Magnetic pumps require proper cooling and lubrication through the medium being pumped. It is strictly prohibited to run the pump without any fluid, as this can cause severe damage. Also, avoid restarting the pump immediately after it has stopped, as this may lead to unnecessary load on the system due to residual pressure or time delays.
If the medium being transported contains solid particles, a filter should be installed at the pump inlet. In cases where ferromagnetic particles are present, a magnetic filter must also be added to prevent clogging and damage to internal components.
During operation, the ambient temperature should remain below 40°C, and the motor temperature must not exceed 75°C. Exceeding these limits can reduce the lifespan of the pump and its electrical components.
The properties of the medium being conveyed must stay within the pump's specified operating range. For engineering plastic pumps, the temperature should be below 60°C, while metal pumps can handle up to 100°C. The suction pressure should not exceed 0.2 MPa, and the maximum working pressure should be no more than 1.6 MPa. The liquid density should not go beyond 1600 kg/m³, and the viscosity should be under 30 × 10â»â¶ m²/s. Avoid using the pump for liquids containing hard particles or fibers, as they can cause mechanical failure.
If the fluid being transported tends to crystallize or precipitate, it is important to clean the pump thoroughly after each use and drain all remaining fluid. This helps prevent blockages and ensures smooth operation during the next use.
After 1000 hours of normal operation, the magnetic pump should be disassembled for inspection. Pay close attention to the condition of the bearings and the face seal. Any worn or damaged parts should be replaced immediately and never reused, as this can compromise the pump’s performance and safety.
