Smart sensor outlook can be expected

With the continuous development of the Internet of Things in China, the entire sensor market is effectively driven. In the next five years, it is expected that the domestic sensor market will achieve a growth rate of about 31%. The demand for sensors in the areas of food, logistics, automobiles, coal mines, and security has seen a quantum leap.

The application of domestic Internet of Things is being fully deepened. The industry is also considering introducing the Internet of Things into industrial production and using its unique data collection and other advantages to create a highly automated production model. According to this, the sensor will have great potential in industrial production.

At the same time, with the continuous expansion of production automation, the use of conventional sensors cannot quickly and directly measure and control certain product quality indicators (eg, viscosity, hardness, surface finish, composition, color, and taste, etc.). Sensors that incorporate intelligent technologies will be able to solve the above problems. The application of sensors is very extensive. All components of industrial production need sensors to monitor and feed back data to the control center so that abnormal nodes can be promptly intervened to ensure normal industrial production.

The industry generally believes that the heart of industrial automation is a new generation of advanced smart sensors that allow product lines to continue to operate, link to high-performance programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interface (HMI) systems through low-latency and real-time networks. As long as the manufactured products can reach the specified quality level, efficient production lines will continue to operate as fast as possible, and the importance of smart sensors is highlighted.

At present, smart sensors, as the most influential and development high-tech in the 21st century, are attracting great attention from the electronic information industry at home and abroad. The Optoelectronics Industry Development Association (OIDA) predicts that the international market for smart sensors will grow at a high rate of 20% per year, and smart sensors will play a more important role in the era of industrial automation.
