There are many methods for measuring the leaf area, such as square paper method, measurement method, etc., all have their own advantages and disadvantages. However, the shape of the leaves of A. chinensis is longer, and the number of leaves of the whole plant is generally 5 to 7 leaves, and many methods are not suitable. The modern instrument leaf area detector is simple and fast and accurate for determining the leaf area.

From the leaf area measured by the Leaf Area Detector, the area of ​​the middle 3 leaves was analyzed by variance (p=0.0001). The results showed that there was no significant difference between the 3rd, 4th, and 5th leaves. After calculating the K value, there is no definite rule. The K value of the 5-year-old Eucalypts is between 0.6063 and 0.7184, and the K value of the year-old Eucalypts is between 0.6221 and 0.7441. The maximum value of the K value of the 5-year-old Eulaliopsis binata appears in the inverted 5-leaf, and the maximum value of the K value of the 2-year-old Eulaliopsis binata appears in the inverted 1-leaf. Not only does the leaf position rise, but also the value is larger than that of the 5-year-old.

The difference of each leaf position shows that the area difference of 5-year-old Chinese barnyardgrass varies from 0.2363 to 5.4115 cm2, while the difference in leaf area of ​​2-year-old yarrow must range from 0.0046 to 3.5683 cm2. The data obtained from the two groups were analyzed by SAS software. The results showed that the correlation coefficient between the calculated leaf area and the measured leaf area of ​​5-year-old R. sinensis was 0.9858, p=0.0003, and the calculated leaf area of ​​2-year-old R. The correlation coefficient with the measured leaf area was 0.9968, p=0.0001, and the difference was not significant. This shows that the leaf area calculated with the K value is highly consistent with the measured leaf area.

Since the leaf area used as a basis was measured using a leaf area detector, the data was processed using SAS software and the data obtained were all objective. Therefore, the resulting K value can reflect the real situation. The only problem is that only one species is used, and whether the resulting K=0.67 is suitable for other species of yarrow and other plant leaves with similar blade shapes requires further verification.
