Cicero FD apparatus updates

Larry Shapiro recently shared some updates regarding the Cicero Fire Department's fleet changes. They’ve placed an order with Pierce for a new Dash PUC engine, which is anticipated to arrive in February. This vehicle will take over for Engine 3, a reliable but aging 1999 Pierce Saber that has served them well until now. Attached is a picture of Cicero Engine 3, which has been put into reserve status. Larry Shapiro captured this image, showing the classic design and the long history this engine had with the department. Replacing it will be a brand-new addition, bringing modern technology and capability to their operations. In addition to the new engine, Cicero has also integrated a relatively new command vehicle into their fleet, designated as F12. This tactical support unit operates out of a 2010 Chevy Tahoe, offering enhanced mobility and functionality for on-site incident management. As seen in another photo by Shapiro, the vehicle is fully equipped and ready to support emergency response efforts. Metro Paramedic Services, under Superior Ambulance, provides essential EMS services to Cicero. Recently, they’ve added a new Type II ambulance to their headquarters station. Built by Demers Ambulances—a renowned Canadian manufacturer—the ambulance hit the road in 2012 on a 2011 Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis. Expected to join active service soon, this state-of-the-art vehicle aims to improve Cicero’s paramedic response times and efficiency. A series of photos showcase the new F10 ambulance in detail. One highlights the full chevron striping along the rear, giving it a distinct look that matches Cicero’s fleet aesthetic. Another shot focuses on the passenger side, revealing the large sliding door that enhances accessibility during medical interventions. Inside, the patient treatment and transport area looks spacious and well-equipped, ensuring maximum comfort and functionality for both patients and paramedics. Additional images include the manufacturer’s law tag and a Daimler AG law tag, providing crucial details about the vehicle’s specifications and compliance. These small yet significant details underscore the rigorous standards adhered to in building such specialized vehicles. Overall, these updates reflect Cicero Fire Department's commitment to maintaining a modern, efficient, and capable fleet. Each new acquisition not only bolsters their operational readiness but also honors their tradition of excellence in public safety.
