Cicero FD apparatus updates

Larry Shapiro recently shared some updates regarding the Cicero Fire Department's fleet. The department has placed an order with Pierce for a new Dash PUC engine, which is anticipated to arrive in February. This new addition will replace Engine 3, a 1999 Pierce Saber that has been taken out of regular service and placed in reserve. Attached to this post is a photo of Cicero Engine 3, captured by Larry Shapiro, showing the older model that will soon be retired. Meanwhile, Cicero has also introduced a fairly new command vehicle, designated as F12, which operates out of a 2010 Chevy Tahoe. The photo of F12, also provided by Shapiro, highlights the current setup of their mobile command unit. Metro Paramedic Services, a division of Superior Ambulance responsible for Cicero’s emergency medical services, has added a brand-new ambulance to its fleet. This state-of-the-art vehicle, designated as F10, was constructed by Demers Ambulances in 2012 using a 2011 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis. According to Shapiro, the ambulance is expected to go into active service very soon. I’ve included several images showcasing the new F10 ambulance. One photo captures the rear of the vehicle with its full chevron striping, while another focuses on the passenger-side sliding door and interior space designed for patient care. There are also images displaying the manufacturer's law tag and Daimler AG certification, along with an interior shot highlighting the patient treatment and transport area. These updates reflect Cicero Fire Department’s ongoing efforts to modernize their fleet and enhance their ability to respond effectively to emergencies. It’s always exciting to see how departments like Cicero continue to evolve with cutting-edge technology and vehicles.
