John Tulipano photo It was a quick response, and the crews handled it well. I got some good shots from the sidelines, capturing the firefighters in action. The incident didn’t last long, but it was a solid reminder of how important it is to be ready for anything. The local community always appreciates the work they do, and it’s great to see the coordination between departments like West Chicago and Carol Stream. Overall, it was a calm but professional operation—nothing too serious, just a routine call that went smoothly. For once, I was in the right place at the right time. I was behind West Chicago Station 1 when the general alarm sounded. I followed the (3) buggies and Tower 6 to the scene.
The fire was in a research lab at Ball Seed. From what I could tell, the initial report mentioned an incubator on the second floor. It wasn’t too bad—just a small fire that didn’t spread much.
