West Chicago FPD

John Tulipano was on the scene in West Chicago this afternoon when a general alarm was called:

For once, I was in the right place at the right time. I was behind West Chicago Station 1 when the general alarm went out. I followed the (3) buggies and Tower 6 to the incident.
The fire was in a research lab at Ball Seed. From what I heard initially, it started in an incubator on the second floor. Not much to see up close, but the crews were quick to respond.

It’s always interesting to witness how quickly the department responds, especially during a general alarm. The crews were well-coordinated, and it looked like they had everything under control pretty fast. I snapped a few shots from behind the scene, capturing the action as it unfolded. It’s always a good reminder of how vital these emergency services are to our community.
