AWS A5.20 E71T-1C is designed for x-ray quality welds in flat, vertical up, horizontal, or overhead positions. It is ideal for welding low carbon and mild steel, structural, and pressure vessel grades. The flux core formulation allows for fast freezing slag, making it suitable for out-of-position welding. The bead contour is flat to slightly convex, and the slag is easy to remove with minimal spatter, facilitating post-weld cleaning.
