The conical classifier is an inverted cone that can be used for deliming or dewatering, and is generally not used for classification because of poor classification. According to the different particle size of the materials treated, it can be divided into ore type (separating 0.15mm or more) and slime type (separating 0.15mm or less). Both of the classifiers used automatic discharge devices to gradually discharge the grit with its deposition degree. However, due to the complicated structure and the effect, the automatic discharge device was eliminated. At present, a new type of cone hydraulic classifier has been developed in the early 1980s.
1. Dividing bucket It is a simple cone classifier (Fig. 1). Its shape is an inverted cone. The center of the liquid surface is provided with a feeding cylinder. The bottom of the cylinder is at a certain depth below the liquid level. The slurry is fed into the center cylinder in a tangential direction and buffered to flow out from the bottom. The outflowing slurry flows radially to the surrounding overflow. During this process, coarse particles with a settling velocity greater than the rising velocity are deposited in the tank and discharged through the bottom grit. The fine particles enter the overflow tank with the surface layer slurry and are discharged as an overflow. The feed size is generally less than 2 mm and the graded particle size is 74 μm or less.
The split mud bucket is characterized by simple structure, easy manufacture, no power, and convenient operation. The disadvantage is that the classification efficiency is low and the configuration height difference is large. Now, the dredging bucket is mainly used to de-sludge the ore before the hydraulic classifier to improve the classification efficiency. It can also be used to concentrate or dehydrate the ore before the grinding equipment to increase the concentration of the mill. It can also be used in various slime. Control the concentration and amount of ore before the equipment is selected. Due to the large volume of the cone of the dredging bucket, it also has a mineral depositing effect in the production process.

2.YF-type conical hydraulic classifier This classifier was successfully developed by the Beijing Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in the early 1980s. Its schematic diagram is shown in Figure 2. It consists of two parts: the main shaft and the trough. In operation, the motor supported on the beam rotates the spindle 1 slowly by the pulley. The lower end of the main shaft is equipped with a new type of impeller 2. When the impeller rotates, the upper and lower sides of the main shaft are separated from the center by the slurry, and the inside forms a negative pressure to generate suction. The impeller is pumped to the ore and the upper circulating slurry, and only the circulating slurry is pumped underneath. After the pulp leaves the impeller, it enters the new cover 3 to prevent the slurry from rotating in the groove. Due to the orientation of the cover blades, most of the slurry is converted into a rising ore flow. During the ascent, fine and light ore particles rise, and coarse and heavy ore particles sink. The rising fine and light ore particles enter the overflow tank and become overflow overflow. The sinking coarse and heavy ore particles enter the middle of the trough and are pumped back to the upper part of the trough as the lower circulating slurry. After repeated classification, the fine and light ore particles are mixed into the overflow. Finally, the coarse and heavy ore particles enter the lower part of the tank and are discharged as a graded grit from the bottom of the cone.
In order to ensure the fineness of the machine's graded overflow, an automatic control device is adopted. The automatic control device can control the opening degree of the self-controlled pinch valve by the electric actuator according to the change of the overflow concentration, and control the grading by controlling the fluctuation range of the overflow concentration to ±1% of the given value. The classifier is characterized by simple structure, reliable operation, convenient operation and maintenance, and strict control of overflow fineness. Suitable for the classification of metal and non-metallic minerals as well as other materials.
