The most direct impact of the seepage/leakage phenomenon of the pneumatic mechanism on the operation of the circuit breaker is frequent pressure and a series of consequences. First of all, it is easy to cause the pressure to be too long. The frequent starting of the air compressor shortens the time interval between each start, and the internal components of the air compressor are not fully lubricated, thereby accelerating the wear of the piston ring and even the damage of the air compressor. Second, the wear of the piston ring reduces the efficiency of the air compressor, and the amount of air taken in at the rated pressure increases.

For a long time, the investigation of the seepage/leakage phenomenon mainly adopts the “soap water smearing method”, that is, the soapy water is applied to the compressed air pipe joint or the suspected osmotic/leakage area, and if there is a bubble in the smear part, it is considered that there is oozing/ Air leaks. The “soap water smearing method” is simple and easy to use, and is widely used on the spot. However, there are some obvious shortcomings in the "soap water smearing method". First, it is prone to missed detection. Due to the large number of compressed air pipeline joints, each joint needs to be coated with soapy water during the inspection, which inevitably leads to leakage coating and missed inspection. Second, the judgment of seepage/leakage is not sensitive. For small seepage/leakage points, the bubbles are often not obvious, so it is prone to misjudgment; the third is that the judgment results are susceptible to the operator's experience and subjective factors; the fourth is that some of the seepage/leakage points cannot be applied with soapy water. Since the application of soapy water is completely done by hand, some seepage/leakage points (such as high-pressure gas storage tank check valves, split/close control valves, etc.) are often not touched, and some parts cannot be painted due to extremely irregular shapes. .
