Electric vs. hydrogen: 4 EV experts predict the future of mobility

The future of mobility is at a crossroads, and the debate over whether battery electric vehicles (EVs) or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will dominate is heating up. While EVs currently lead the market, many industry experts believe that both technologies have a role to play in shaping the transportation landscape of tomorrow. At **REVOLUTION Digital #2**, we brought together some of the brightest minds in clean tech to discuss what lies ahead—and their insights are nothing short of electrifying. --- **Prediction One: The Future Is Battery Electric** Michael Hajesch, CEO and Managing Director of **Ionity**, a leading European charging network powered entirely by renewable energy, is confident about the direction of mobility. With over 400 fast-charging stations across 24 countries, Ionity has made it easier than ever for drivers to switch to electric. Hajesch sees a clear path forward. “I would say the future is electric—battery electric. Over the past decade, we’ve seen an explosion in EV options, with more than 200 models available in Europe alone. There’s huge investment in infrastructure and in the entire EV ecosystem. We’re not talking about 2050—we’re talking about 2025 to 2030. The future is clearly battery electric.” --- **Prediction Two: The Future Is the Best Mix** Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, Secretary General of **Hydrogen Europe**, takes a different stance. While he acknowledges the rise of EVs, he argues that the future won’t be one or the other—it will be a combination of both. His organization represents over 200 members from 31 countries working toward a zero-emission transport system. “My view isn’t ‘the future is just hydrogen.’ Instead, I believe the future is a mix. Both technologies have their place. Hydrogen-electric cars are still electric—they just generate power on board. It’s about finding the right application for each. In urban areas, where range is limited, EVs make sense. But for long-haul trucks or heavy transport, hydrogen offers advantages in weight and refueling time. The key is collaboration, not competition.” --- **Prediction Three: Battery Electric Vehicles Are Here to Stay** Mathieu Bonnet, CEO of **Allego**, a major European charging solutions provider, shares a similar perspective. He emphasizes the importance of clean energy and digitalization in shaping the future of mobility. “Clean energy is essential, and both electricity and hydrogen can help us reach that goal. But I believe the optimization of transportation—from individual cars to shared mobility and autonomous vehicles—will define the next era. Digitalization is driving this change, and for me, that’s tied to electricity. So while I don’t know exactly what the future will look like, I’m certain that battery electric vehicles will remain central to it.” --- **Prediction Four: Clean Energy-Powered EVs Are the Way Forward** Michiel Langezaal, founder and CEO of **Fastned**, a company offering fast-charging stations across Europe and the UK, is a strong advocate for EVs. He highlights the inefficiencies of hydrogen when compared to solar and wind-powered EVs. “If you start with a solar panel and charge your car directly, you get around 5 km per kWh. But if you use hydrogen, you lose half the energy in the conversion process. Then you compress it, store it, and finally convert it back into electricity. That’s a lot of waste. For me, the most efficient and practical solution is to go electric, especially with clean energy sources. It’s not just about the technology—it’s about solving the climate crisis.” --- **So, Which Side Are You On?** While three out of four experts leaned toward battery electric vehicles, the consensus was clear: the future of mobility is not a binary choice. As Jorgo Chatzimarkakis put it, “The best mix” may be the answer. Whether through EVs, hydrogen, or a blend of both, the goal remains the same: a cleaner, more sustainable transportation system. If you want to join the conversation and shape the future, don’t miss **REVOLUTION Digital #3**, coming on December 8. Silicone Fluid

We have different Silicone Fluid, silicone oil for different industries.

dimethyl silicone oil: lubrication, shakeproof, electric insulating oil, defoamer, mould release, cosmetics.rubber and plastic, heat-conducting medium etc.

vinyl silicone oil: silicone rubber compound

hydroxy silicone oil: aids for silicone rubber, waterproof, softner and antiadhesive agent for fabric, paper and leather

amino silicone oil: fabric(terylene/polyester)softer treatment, Fabric; textile, Cosmetics, improve hair combed ,Slippery and shining .

phenyl silicone oil: Insulation, lubrication, damping, quakeproof, moistureproof, dustproof, high temperature hydraulic fluid, High temperature heat carrier, filling oil for Transformer and pressure signals transferring medium for various pressure transmitter.

hydrogen silicone oil: aids for silicone rubber, waterproof, softner and antiadhesive agent for fabric, paper and leather.

Polyether Silicone Oil: silicone surfactant, textile adjuvant, etc

The role of silicone in rubber, plastic and metal demoulding
Because of the non-stick property of dimethyl silicone oil and rubber, plastic, metal, etc., it can be used for the demoulding of polyurethane microporous elastomer molded products, but also can be used for the demoulding of peeling polyurethane molded products, rubber products, ABS molded products, etc. The main advantages of the release agent are small release force, no pollution, convenient transportation, and make the surface of the product clean, smooth, clear texture. With the rapid development of polyurethane industry, silicone oil release agent market is expanding.
