House fire in Buffalo Grove, 10-16-16
The Buffalo Grove Fire Department was alerted by a neighbor around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016, when smoke was spotted at 1400 Caren Court. Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy black smoke coming from the roof vents and the rear of the first floor. The initial Code 3 alarm was escalated to a Code 4 working fire, prompting mutual aid from neighboring departments including Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Long Grove, Arlington Heights, and Rolling Meadows, along with all local Buffalo Grove units. Although the entire house was filled with smoke, the fire was contained to a single room on the first floor.
