The Fortress Box Frame Slide Gate, manufactured by TYMETAL, is a robust cantilever system designed to withstand the forces of gravity and wind. It uses a box frame construction combined with stainless steel cables for enhanced durability. The diagonal cross members are strategically placed to eliminate lateral movement, while various design elements ensure stability for single gates up to 60 feet and double gates up to 120 feet, addressing potential stress points effectively.
Box Frame Gates are constructed from 6063-T6 aluminum alloy extrusions. The primary members (top and bottom) have a "P" shaped cross-section, ensuring structural integrity. Vertical members alternate between 2â€x2†and 1â€x2†in cross-section, spaced at intervals not exceeding the overall height of the box frame. These frames are built in a "box" form, with a width of 24 inches from outside to outside.
Each frame features an extruded aluminum track welded to the primary member, enabling smooth gate operation. The gate is supported by four self-aligning, 4-wheeled, sealed lubricant ball-bearing truck assemblies. Cross bracing using 3/16†minimum diameter stainless steel cable allows for vertical adjustment and maintains structural alignment.
For unique applications with limited backspace or larger openings, telescoping or roller box frame gates are available. These options provide flexibility without compromising performance.

- Section includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and appliances necessary to complete all Fortress TYM-VS2-1 Box Frame Gate Systems required for this project in strict accordance with this specification section and drawings.
- Gate and operator must be specifically designed to complement each other as a system and provided by a single manufacturer.
**Part 2 – Products:**
