Removing Your Rear Brake Pads

1. Begin by parking your Toyota on a level surface, ideally inside a garage or driveway to prevent accidents. Make sure the area is clear of obstructions.
2. Place wheel chocks behind the front tires to prevent the car from rolling.
3. Lift the rear of the vehicle using a floor jack and stabilize it with jack stands. Always refer to your owner’s manual for the recommended jack points to avoid damaging your car.
4. Remove the rear wheels carefully. It’s easier to unscrew the lug nuts while the wheels are still on the ground.

7. Gently slide the caliper off the rotor and secure it with a wire or strap to keep it from dangling freely. This prevents damage to the brake hose.
