First responders arrived on the scene just four minutes later at 10:27 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a two-story single-family home with heavy fire coming from the rear exterior. Firefighters launched an aggressive attack and brought the fire under control by 10:42 p.m. Neighbors informed the crews that the house was unoccupied and currently under renovation. Fortunately, no firefighters or civilians were injured during the incident. The fire department received assistance from the Algonquin Police Department, Cary Fire Protection District, Huntley Fire Protection District, Crystal Lake Fire Department, and Fox River Grove Fire Protection District. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and a full damage estimate has not yet been released. However, the community remains grateful for the quick response and coordinated efforts of all involved agencies. Algonquin – LITH responded at 10:30 p.m. on the 29th for a house fire and arrived to find the entire rear of the home engulfed in flames, with fire visible through the roof.
