Working fire in McCook, 3/27/15
Hey everyone,
This is Josh Boyajian here. I just wanted to share some details about a fire incident that happened last Friday (March 27th, 2015). It occurred at a restaurant located at 9507 Joliet Road in McCook. From what I observed, it seemed like there was a fire that originated in the kitchen and spread into the walls. I managed to take some photos from the roof area at the back of the building. The firefighting units involved in this operation included McCook’s squad, Forest View’s engine company, Brookfield’s ladder truck, a quint from Pleasantview, and Riverside’s aerial unit.
Attached are a few images I captured during the incident. These pictures give you a good idea of the extent of the fire and how the firefighters worked to contain it. I’ve labeled each photo with a brief description so you can easily identify what you're looking at.
The first photo shows a firefighter up on the roof assessing the situation. You can see the smoke billowing out from the building behind him. The second image gives a broader view of the scene, capturing multiple fire trucks in action. In the third photo, you’ll notice Brookfield FD’s E-ONE ladder truck parked strategically at the scene. The fourth picture highlights several firefighters gathered near the roof area, discussing their next steps. Lastly, the fifth image focuses on Forest View’s fire engine as it plays a crucial role in extinguishing the flames.
These photos really capture the intensity and teamwork involved in fighting this commercial fire. It was quite an impressive sight to see all these different departments working together to bring the situation under control.
