The first unit on the scene reported heavy smoke conditions and escalated it to a Code 4 (without Engine 13 involvement). There was significant fire on the second floor of the 1.5-story Cape Cod-style home. As I arrived, crews had already evacuated the building due to a floor collapse on the second floor. They initially took a defensive approach for a few minutes, managed to knock down the flames, and then went back inside.
Unfortunately, we couldn't access the rear of the house because almost every backyard had large fences blocking our way. However, there was a noticeable bump-out addition on the rear of the second floor. Units responding to the Code 4 level included AHTS Tower 1, DESP Engine & Battalion Chief, EGRT Engine 11, ROLM Engine, and GLVW Engine Command/Quarters. Great work by everyone involved!
