Autodesk & ZWCAD Software Co. Resolve Disputes Relating to Software Misappropriation

**SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – (BUSINESS WIRE)** – Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK), a global leader in design and engineering software, along with ZWCAD Software Co., Ltd., ZWCAD Design Co., Ltd., HK ZWCAD Software Ltd., and GLOBAL FORCE DIRECT, LLC. (trading as ZWCADUSA), collectively referred to as "ZWSoft," have reached a settlement agreement regarding ongoing legal disputes in The Hague and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. AutoCAD, Autodesk's flagship product, is widely regarded as one of the most popular design software solutions globally.
Following the discovery of evidence suggesting that ZWSoft had inadvertently utilized Autodesk's AutoCAD intellectual property while developing its ZWCAD+ products, Autodesk initiated legal action. The first lawsuit was filed in The Hague in the Netherlands on February 19, 2014 (Case No. C/09/460412 / KG ZA 14-178), followed by a second case in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on March 26, 2014 (Case No. 14-cv-1409-EJD). In these lawsuits, Autodesk claimed that the AutoCAD source code had been improperly accessed and used during the creation of ZWCAD+.
Initially, ZWSoft refuted these claims; however, subsequent investigations revealed that an employee had indeed misused Autodesk's intellectual property in the development process. Acknowledging this mistake, Truman Du, ZWSoft's CEO, publicly admitted the oversight and committed to ceasing the sale, licensing, or distribution of ZWCAD+ across all markets, effective immediately. Both parties have now finalized a binding settlement to resolve their outstanding litigation, with ZWSoft agreeing to pay an undisclosed amount to Autodesk.
