Dan McInerney photo The Oak Park Fire Department, along with River Forest Engine 222, responded to a house fire around 12:30 PM yesterday at 1048 N. Elmwood. As they approached, dispatch reported that officers on the scene had seen smoke coming from the second-floor rear and that an elderly resident in a wheelchair was still inside on the first floor. The flames were quickly brought under control, and the structure was ventilated to prevent further spread.
